Study for Women Who Are Pregnant or Recently Had a Baby

What we are studying

Preeclampsia is a condition when a pregnant woman has high blood pressure and protein in her urine. Toxemia is also another name for this condition. We will look at blood work and ultrasound images to find out which women may be at greater risk for stroke so that we can help prevent future strokes and heart disease in this group of women.
