The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is able to offer the highest quality of care by providing the following services:

Aesthetic Surgery

We provide the entire spectrum of cosmetic procedures such as facial rejuvenation, otoplasty, and abdominal and extremity contouring. The treatment of varicose and spider veins, hair and tattoo removal, and scar revision are also available. Our laser center provides the latest in technological support for these types of surgery.

Center for Comprehensive Wound Care

We evaluate, diagnose and treat acute and chronic wounds using innovative techniques including Vacuum-Assisted Closure, cultured skin therapies, reconstructive and microvascular surgeries, and numerous other special resources which allow us to provide our patients with individualized treatment plans.

North Carolina Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Disorders

Our team-directed approach allows us to provide the most thorough and up-to-date care for disorders including cleft lip and palate, craniofacial syndromes, congenital ear deformities, vascular anomalies, soft tissue tumors, pediatric traumatic deformities and positional plagiocephaly.

Reconstructive Surgery

  • Level-One Trauma Center which provides treatment of hand, head and neck, and soft tissue injuries.
  • Congenital reconstruction including hand, extremity, chest wall, and breast reconstruction.
  • Reconstructive surgery for cancer including the treatment of head and neck tumors and breast reconstruction.
  • Acute and chronic burn care through the WFUBMC’s Burn Unit, only one of two in the State of North Carolina.
