Physician Assistant Program Admissions

PBL StudentThe Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is a graduate level program which awards a Master of Medical Science (MMS) degree. One class of 56 students is enrolled in early June each year.

Admission to the Program has become increasingly competitive. Applicants accepted into the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program in 2009 (Class of 2011) had the following qualifications:

• mean overall GPA on prior college work of 3.54
• mean science GPA on prior college work of 3.51
• mean Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Verbal score of 520
• mean GRE Quantitative score of 640
• mean GRE Analytical Writing score of 4.6
• mean health care experience of 23.3 months (4,046 hours)
• mean age of 25 (range from 21 - 40)
