The Translational Science Institute is a service oriented institute created in response to the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) initiative to develop and support well defined translational research within academic institutions. Our mission is to enable a diverse culture of people and systems to generate and convert knowledge into better health. We value innovation, teamwork, excellence, service and diversity. Our vision is to cultivate a skilled, creative, multidisciplinary workforce, which combines visionary people with supportive translational resources to stimulate and implement health improvements through local, regional and national engagement.

- The WFU TSI announces an internal Request for Applications for Translational Science Institute Research Scholars, a K-12 type award. This intramural program provides 2 years of support for early career faculty from Wake Forest University to be trained in conducting multidisciplinary clinical and translational research. Marking a substantial change in the organizational structure of the Wake Forest University Translational Science Institute (TSI), Charles E. “Cash” McCall, M.D., has been appointed director as well as professor of translational science at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. This is the first primary appointment in the TSI. Stephen B. Kritchevsky, Ph.D., will join McCall as deputy director.
