Tamer Aboushwareb, MS, MD, Instructor
Dr. Aboushwareb was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Vlachos works at the School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences at WFUHS, studying flow diagnostics, cardiovascular hemodynamics, poly-dispersed, multi-phase flows, active flow control, digital signal/image processing, and artificial intelligence (Neural Networks/Fuzzy Logic), and scientific virtual reality. He received his PhD from Virginia Tech in 2000.

Janice D. Wagner, PhD DVM, Professor
Dr. Wagner serves as professor of Pathology and Deputy Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Animal Resources Program at WFUHS. She received her DVM from Ohio State and her PhD from Wake Forest University. Yuanyuan Zhang, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor
Dr. Zhang received his M.S. and MD in Jiangxi Medical College in China. He co mpleted his residency in urology and renal transplantation at the same medical institution and was a certified urologist in China. Terri Bowen, Administrative Assistant
Ms. Bowen came to the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in August of 2005 from the airline industry, with over 22 years of diverse administrative experience. She is responsible for the day to day administrative functions of the department. She coordinates the work flow of the administrative staff to ensure all project deadlines are completed on time, in keeping with departmental guidelines.

Tom B. Clarkson, M.S., Director of Planning and Business Development
Mr. Clarkson is responsible for assisting in setting institute project priorities, developing commercialization pathways for institute technology, and developing collaborative industry relations through the Industry Participation Program. Dr. Mark Furth became fascinated by stem cells during high school summer projects at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He received his B.A. from Harvard University and his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Major General George Weightman, MD, Associate Director, Chief Operating Officer and Professor
