Wake Forest Baptist is a patient safety pioneer and early adopter of safety technologies. These include computerized physician order entry; a robotic pharmacy;barcode medication administration;electronic patient records and Patient SafetyNet.

A Leader in Rapid Response Teams
Wake Forest Baptist has one of the nation’s most experienced Rapid Response Teams, launched in 2004. Here, highly trained intensive care nurses deliver Intensive Care Unit interventions to patients wherever they are in the hospital in minutes, avoiding time-consuming transfers, and saving lives. Rapid Response Teams are a best practice identified by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s 100,000 Lives Campaign in 2005.
