What do I need to disclose to WFUHS?
According to WFUHS policy, each faculty member and exempt employee will annually disclose any private financial relationship with an outside entity related to their school activities that amounts to greater than $10,0000 or 5% ownership interest. Any intellectual property rights (e.g., patents, copyrights, and current/potential future royalties from such rights), as well as any fiduciary services (e.g., officer or board member of an outside entity), must also be reported. All disclosures are kept highly confidential.
What if my relationships change?
Disclosures must be kept current. When substantial changes in external activities occur, faculty and exempt employees are required to update their disclosure within 30 days. Select the link above to revise your disclosure. Each disclosure submission is individually date stamped and archived.
Are other disclosures necessary?
In addition to the annual disclosure, faculty members and exempt employees must disclose significant conflicts of interest through submission of grants, contracts, regulatory protocols, and purchases at the time of each new application.
Many publications require disclosure of conflicts of interest at the time of manuscript submission, and presentations should generally include a brief disclosure on the first or second slide. In lieu of specifically required language, sample disclosure language is included in the link.
