About the Department of Neurology
Message from the Chair
Welcome to the Department of Neurology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. We have an exciting, dynamic and innovative department. Our primary emphasis is excellence in patient care within the context of a teaching experience. We also perform extensive clinical research and are among the top funded departments of neurology in the country for NIH awards. Each of our physician faculty is a skilled neurologic clinician, and all faculty see patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. The neurology residency training program emphasizes the practice of clinical neurology both for outpatients, inpatients, and those with critical neurologic problems. We see patients with illnesses covering the full spectrum of neurologic disorders.
The Department of Neurology works closely with colleagues in basic science and particularly the Departments of Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Public Health Sciences, Radiological Sciences and Anatomy and Neurobiology.
