Inpatient Rehabilitation
Located on the campus of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, in Winston Salem, NC, the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation offers 3 unique programs that provide acute care, psychiatry and acute inpatient rehabilitation all under one roof.
Acquired Brain Injury Unit: a special 6-bed CARF-accredited unit that provides specialized care for persons with traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury in a supportive, closely supervised environment.
Psychiatry (Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine): Adult inpatient services emphasize evaluation and treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and schizophrenia offering inpatient ECT when needed. Child and adolescent inpatient services include evaluations and treatment for depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, and conduct disorder.
Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation: a 19-bed CARF-accredited unit that provides intense therapy for a variety of patients, 13 years of age and older, recovering from neurological and musculoskeletal disorders including stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple traumas, amputation, major joint replacement and other conditions.
Our Facilities
The third floor of this attractive 40,000, sq. ft. facility houses private and semi-private rooms with fully accesiable showers. An indoor heated therapy pool, a horticulture room and a transitional living apartment where patients can practice independent living are also available.
Referrals
