Patient Support Services
Support Programs
The Cancer Patient Support Program (CPSP) and Psychosocial Oncology Program (POP) were developed to enhance the quality of life of patients and family members during diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. These services were cited by the National Cancer Policy Board as a model for Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
Each provides professional counseling and clinical research activities. Research focuses on quality of life following treatment, orienting new patients to treatment, group support for young women breast cancer patients and restorative (gentle) yoga.
Staff and volunteers strive to provide patients comfort and hope.
Pastoral Care
Chaplains at the Medical Center serve as members of the health care team, providing support to patients, families and staff.
This ministry of compassion has been a part of the Medical Center for 50 years, and has grown along with the medical center.

The Appearance Boutique
The Appearance Boutique is a place of welcome, compassion and expert consultation on a variety of products designed to enhance appearance and confidence, and provide comfort for those undergoing cancer treatments or breast surgeries.
