The Wake Forest Baptist Approach
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center offers the region’s only multidisciplinary clinic for brain cancer treatment. Patients receive their brain tumor diagnosis via consultations with nationally-recognized experts, including medical oncologists, neurosurgeons, and radiation oncologists. Those with tumor-associated seizures can also work with a neurologist from Wake Forest Baptist’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.
For patients who receive their care at Wake Forest Baptist, the most sophisticated tools in the world are available for brain tumor diagnosis and treatment. We were the first center in the state to offer Gamma Knife® surgery, a non-invasive, ultra-precise therapy for brain tumors. Gamma Knife surgery is the gold standard against which other therapies are measured. In addition, we take advantage of a multitude of additional leading-edge approaches for our patients receiving brain cancer treatment, from image-guided surgery to cortical mapping and awake craniotomy.
