Comparing Different Pain Education Following Knee Replacement Surgery

What we are studying

The purpose of this study is to determine if two different educational treatments, arthritis education or pain education, improve the outcome of care following knee replacement surgery as compared to usual care.

Who we are studying

  • Men and Women
  • Races:
    • White
    • African American
    • Asian
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 45+

Eligibility Criteria

  • Diagnosis of osteoarthritis
  • Screened for study eligibility no sooner than 1 week or later than 8 weeks from the scheduled date of surgery

What is involved

  • Depending on the group you are in you will complete different tests and education
  • Everyone will be in this study until 1 year after your knee replacement
  • All study visits phone-based only two study visits on site

Compensation

You will receive a total of $150.00 in gift cards if you complete the study.
