AirCare
AirCare Critical Transport
AirCare Critical Care Transport is an air and ground transport service consisting of 1 EC-135 Helicopter, 1 EC-130 Helicopter and 2 ambulances.
AirCare is part of an EMS network serving patients in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and West Virginia. AirCare provides fast, safe transportation for critically ill or injured patients.

The AirCare Crew
The AirCare helicopter crew includes 1 pilot, 1 flight paramedic and 1 flight nurse specifically trained to care for critical-care patients. The crew is always in direct radio contact with physicians at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, as well as with EMS personnel at the scene of the accident or with a physician at the referring hospital.
AirCare Education Efforts
The AirCare team also works to educate the public and medical teams.
The team holds a quarterly lecture series called “AirCare Night Out” and provides specialty care classes upon request. Other classes include:
- Landing Zone Safety
- ACLS
- PALS
- ITLS
- BLS
- TNCC
- ENPC
